Volunteer

How can you be involved with LIBA? Volunteering, of course!

Volunteering for LIBA helps “spread the weird” and is a fun way to be involved with local businesses and events.  Your time and hard work also helps the organization fulfill its mission to preserve the unique community character of the Louisville area by promoting locally-owned, independent businesses and to educate citizens on the value of purchasing locally.

We need volunteers year-round to help us with a variety of events.

Volunteering FAQ

What are the duties?

Some of our events require dozens of hands-on and hard-working volunteers to staff our larger annual events like the Buy Local Fair, and sometimes we need just a handful of friendly faces to set up and staff the LIBA booth at smaller neighborhoods events like NuLu Fest. Sometimes we need just one or two people to help us with data entry – tasks that can be done from the comfort of a Wi-Fi signal.

What are the rewards?

Our volunteers are compensated in a variety of ways. You get to have fun with friends, meet new people while supporting cool local events and you'll feel good about helping a non-profit and your community. Depending on the event, volunteers may receive free admission, food/drink tickets and a free t-shirt. We also host an annual Volunteer Appreciation Party with local food and libations (for those 21+) and other fun activities.

What if I want to help with something not listed on the page?

That would awesome! Reach out to weirdvolunteer@keeplouisvilleweird.com and let us know what you’d like to do. We’ll be glad to help find a way for you to help and answer any other questions.
