Join us for a speed networking event - LIBA style! This has been an extremely popular event in the past so we are bringing it back IN PERSON! (Proof of Vaccination or a Negative Covid Test are required. See full COVID safety guidelines below.) At our weird networking event, you will meet lots of LIBA members in a 'speed dating' style event that includes some fun questions as well. We will have a moderator who will guide us as we take turns telling each other about our businesses. We'll have some light breakfast items and coffee will be provides by Dee's Catering.

How Weird Networking Will Work:

    • You will be seated opposite someone at a table.
    • Each pair will have 4 minutes (2 minutes for each person to talk). (We will try to rotate so you can meet everyone, but that depends on how many people attend. There will be time to mingle after.)
    • After the bell, ONE side of the table will move chairs.

To prepare for this event (and all networking opportunities), we suggest you:

    • Bring business cards (at least 50) and brochures if appropriate.
    • Think about what you’re an expert in.
    • Think about what you need help with.
    • Use your time wisely.
    • Be clear about who you are, what you do and how you could use help.
    • Be curious about the other person.

Use WEIRD Questions if you get stuck. Here are some suggestions:

    1. Weirdest place you have made a business connection.
    2. Weirdest interview question either you have asked and been asked.
    3. Weirdest marketing tip.
    4. Weirdest business idea or strategy.
    5. Weirdest experience related to your work.

COVID Safety Guidelines:

This event is in-person and indoors. Due to the nature of the event and venue, and in an effort to adhere to CDC guidelines in protecting LIBA Staff and Members, we are requiring proof of vaccination* or a negative COVID test within 48 hours for entry. Masks are encouraged except when eating or drinking.

*Vaccination documentation must be authentic and reflect that attendees are fully vaccinated, having received their final dose at least two weeks prior to the day of the event. Acceptable proof of vaccination includes a CDC COVID-19 vaccination card or a photo of the card. We will accept a printed or digital copy of a negative COVID-19 test result administered by or under the supervision of a healthcare professional within 48 hours of the date of the event. Staff will verify documentation upon your arrival. Please do not email your documentation in advance of your visit. Any person who does not meet these requirements may be denied entry to event, notwithstanding their reservations.
