Informal Connections With Our Elected Officials
KreAtive Events - 2722 Crittenden Dr. on Tuesday, November 14th from 5:30 - 7:00pm
Our elected officials are also our neighbors. They are voted into office to represent the communities they serve, and they want to continue to connect with the people in it. Many of us feel hesitation about talking to them in person – often we perceive them as far away bureaucrats with complicated jobs, who are too busy to chat with us, who would think we are a bit clueless if we don’t know all the finer details of government functions.
That is not (usually) the case, and for the Buy Local movement, it’s especially important that our elected officials have some sort of connection with all types of independent business owners and personnel. The more they know about our various, unique points of view and enterprises, the better they will represent us.
We hope you will join us for an evening of informal connections with Louisville Metro Council members and Kentucky State Senators & Representatives. The evening will include some casual networking, as well as a traditional panel discussion that always proves to be interesting and usually sparks new ideas and later conversations. Please join us, and help us represent the independent business community to our elected officials!
Light appetizers will be provided by Chicago's Jerk Tacos.
