Independents Month Kick-off Celebration

Join the Gardiner Lane Shopping Center and Rainbow Blossom, Heine Brothers, Sustainable Health Choices, Rocky's Pizza and Panini, and Buckhead Bardstown Road as we celebrate independent business during independence week.

Guests can peruse locally made art from Consider Boutique, fair trade gifts from Just Creations and sustainably made products from Amazing Green Planet.

Homemade beer cheese w/soft pretzels and beer-braised brats with sriracha mustard from Buckhead Mountain Grill, Nigerian cuisine from Funmi’s café, vegan offerings from Half-Peach Bakery, and meatballs in homemade Marinara and parmesan garlic breadsticks by Rocky’s are some of the local foods being offered for purchase as well as organic fair-trade coffee from Heine Brothers.

Cold draft beer from Buckhead Mountain Grill and Heaven Hill Bourbon from The Party Mart will be available for purchase as well. Live music will be provided by Kentucky City boys.

Louisville Metro Animal Services (LMAS) will be present with puppies and information on volunteer opportunities. And representatives from Louisville Independent Business Alliance (LIBA) will be available as well

Attendees can enter to win a $250 shopping spree to Rainbow Blossom, Heine Brothers, Buckhead Mountain Grill, Rocky’s Pizza and Panini or Sustainable Health Choices. By shopping at any of these businesses prior to the event, attendees can collect all four “Reasons to Buy Local” cards at each location giving them up to four chances to win.

The event is free and provides an excellent opportunity to support some of the businesses that help to “keep Louisville weird.”
